While working as a reporter at Downtown Devil, I had the opportunity to cover Farewell Photography: The Hitachi Collection at the Phoenix Art Museum.

This exhibition explored the evolution of Japanese photography, featuring works that challenged traditional notions of the medium. The collection showcased pieces from influential photographers, offering a glimpse into the shifting perspectives and experimental techniques that defined different eras.

My coverage delved into the themes of impermanence, memory, and visual storytelling, incorporating insights from artists and curators. Through interviews and research, I aimed to highlight the cultural and historical significance of the collection while making it accessible to a broader audience.

This experience sharpened my ability to analyze visual art and communicate its impact in an engaging way. Beyond detailing the technical aspects of the exhibition, I focused on the narratives behind the images, capturing the emotions and philosophies that shaped the works on display.

By weaving together different perspectives—from art historians to museum visitors—I sought to illustrate the relevance of the Hitachi Collection within the larger conversation about photography’s role in capturing and redefining reality.
